welcome

Sophie Jones and Annemieke Jonas are looking for a member of the Amsterdam Pilates community to join us at our studio, on a "timeshare" basis.

Rental Price

If you are interested in renting studio space please contact us and we will discuss the rental price according to hours/days needed. Our preference is to find someone who is happy to commit to 15 hours a week (e.g 3 x dagdeelen of 5 hours per dagdeel). As a guideline the hourly rental price would be 9.20 per hour for such an arrangement. Other suggestions are welcome and we are open to discussion.

we are looking for

At present we are flexible as to which days and hours we share the space. Though we are open to discussion, the suggested minimum period of rental is 12 months, on a contract basis with a deposit of 2 months rent. This is an opportunity for someone who already has clients or who wishes to establish their own client base in Amsterdam, very close to central station, and work independently within an equipped and established space. The ideal colleague will be qualified and experienced (or a student in latter stages of training/apprenticeship) in the discipline in which they wish to use the space, i.e Pilates mat and apparatus, Yoga, Somatics, Bodywork.

studio description

The studio is in the souterrain of a monumental building on one of Amsterdam's most beautiful and most quiet grachten, The Binnenkant, just infront of Central Station, behind the Nieuwmarkt and with the five star Amrath Hotel on the corner of the street. For both business and pleasure it is superbly located, also for those who do not live in Amsterdam.

The studio is approximately 60 m2 and is equipped with new apparatus from Balanced Body and Stott. There is ceiling to floor Mirrorwall all the way along the studio, wooden floor throughout and a small kitchen on the side of the room. There is a toilet and shower in the bathroom at the back of the studio and a waiting area and coats/shoes area at the reception of the studio. It is a newly renovated studio and has been great for business over the last year. The neighbours are also very friendly and there is generally a very good atmostphere. The equipment is easily pushed to the back of the studio to make space for matwork/yoga classes and workshops. We have given teacher trainings in the past and very comfortably accommodated 12 students.  For those who already have some equipment of their own, it is possible that space can be found for your own machine/s.

equipment in studio

There is one stand alone Balanced Body reformer, two reformer/half trapeze combinations by Balanced Body and Stott, one of which is clinical height for rehabilitation work, one split pedal Chair, four barrels, and a lot of small apparatus such as balls, rings, rollers, thick Pilates mats, Yoga mats etc. There is also a massage table and a Shiatsu futon for giving bodywork treatments.
